New Years Eve

It is New Year's Eve and what a blast. We're going out for a great dinner and then take in a show. Will watch the ball drop in New York, toast the New Year and head for bed.

BRRRRRRR

It's very cold today and I do mean COLD! But there still isn't any snow, so how can I complain? The ice fisherman are unhappy though as the lake still hasn't frozen over.

Little Sister's Birthday

Today is my little sister's birthday, only she isn't a little sister anymore. She is has been married for quite a few years now. She lives about an hour's drive from here so I don't see her a whole lot but she emails me. The internet is a great invention.

Christmas Eve

Here it is Christmas Eve and still no snow. It's just great! We get enough snow most of the time anyway. I'm very glad I don't have to get out and shovel any today. It is going to be sunny and 40 degrees which is way above normal but I love it. You never know about the weather here.

December Thoughts

Here it is December. We don't have any snow this year and that is unusual. We keep having rain instead but that is good because they say for every inch of rain it could be a foot of snow. We will get enough soon enough. Time to get busy with Christmas shopping. It creeps up on you before you know it. Time goes so fast.

New Job

Got a new job. Doing some carpentry work for a friend. I am very good at it. I built a beautiful deck this summer and it is a joy to sit out on it with a cold beer and watch the world go by.

Wow! It's November

It's finally November and my birthday will be here soon. I love my birthday. I love presents and cake and ice cream and everything that goes with birthdays. However, I have reached the point where it isn't so much fun getting older. More aches and pains. But birthdays are still fun!

My van

I love my van. It is so much easier to get in and out of than my pickup was. When I get ready to trade, I am sure I will get another van. They are so handy to haul both people and stuff in and you can see out so much better.

Moving

Boy, do I hate to help move people. Some people are always moving. Why can't they just stay put? And then they have so much stuff they have to rent a storage unit to keep their stuff in. Doesn't make sense to me.

My cats

I have a bunch of cats and kittens all around my house. The neighborhood is full of them. I love to set food out for them and watch the kittens play. I took one in and called him Little bit, and he is so much fun and alot of company for me. I really enjoy all of them.

Time Flies

Time does fly by quickly and life is but a vapor. One minute you are a little kid, then you are married, then the babies have grown into adults in college. The next thing you know, they are getting married and it starts all over again. You blink and life has passed you by.

Trees - aren't they amazing?

Trees are truly amazing. They give us enjoyment all year round. They give off oxygen for our life's breath. They surround us with beauty, specially in the fall when the leaves change. Then you can cut them down and use the wood in your fireplace for warmth in the winter. What would we do without them?

Fall Fever

I have fall fever. The leaves are turning and I hate raking. Won't be long and everyone will be burning their leaves and the smoke gets pretty thick around here and hard to breathe. I remember as a kid piling them up & jumping into the leaves. Also remember cooking marshmallows on the end of an old stick.
Those were the good old days.

Anniversaries

Today is my sister's 56th anniversary. Can you imagine 56 years with the same person. Pretty neat, really. They get along with each other really well, unlike some others I know.

Gas prices

Anyone else think the gas prices are way too high? It seems like $25 hardly buys much anymore. My van uses way too much. Maybe it is time to start looking for a more fuel efficient vehicle.

Airport Traffic

Have to run to the Airport and I hate that traffic. It is almost impossible anymore to find your way around and parking is something else. They keep building & changing and changing and building and it makes for more and more walking to get to your plane.

Dog Chores

Well, she is gone again and I am in charge of letting the dogs in and out. I have to run errands too, get the mail and go pay bills today. Better get going.

Rain, rain,go away, come again some other day

What a wet, miserable day. Supposed to be lots of sun but we have all kinds of cold rain. But the temperatures are warm and it's good for the trees and plants. It's almost foggy.
