We had a great church service today. The church is collecting good used winter coats for those who do not have one or need one. We found 4 that we hadn't been wearing and hope that someone will get them that really need them. We had some wonderful Praise and Worship music and song and a good teaching by the Pastor too.

Suspected IRA Dissidents Charged With Attack

News out of Belfast, Northern Ireland said that two suspected Irish Republican Army dissidents have been charged with attempting to kill an off-duty police officer near the province's border and the Republic of Ireland last week. They were 26 and 32 years of age and were among three suspects arrested after gunmen tried to ambush the officer in Garrison, a lakeside border village in the westernmost corner of Northern Ireland on Saturday.

New Great Grandson

Household Chores/911 call

This was one of those days. I washed all the bedding on two beds. Then washed the dogs comforter that she sleeps on. Had to run to the store for cough syrup and sudafed for my husband who has a cold and terrible cough. Got home and made a big batch of homemade rice soup. Next was the kitchen floor. Since my knee revision, it has been sadly neglected. I got it swept and mopped and it looks great. Also the bathrooms got cleaned again. Then it was time to get the mail, so went to the Post Office and got stamps. Decided to wash the car before it gets any colder and freezes the doors shut. Got into the car wash. Door shuts on both ends. Put my money in and it wouldn't take it. Used the cell phone and called 911 and told her my problem and we both laughed and she called the owner of the car wash. He took my money and got it going. I told him I drove to the front thinking it would let me out since I hadn't paid, but the door didn't open. He said it should have. I am just glad I had the cell phone with me.

More Birthdays

My brother had another birthday November 10. Seems there are quite a few birthdays in November. One of our sons is having a birthday November 23 and for his birthday, he is probably going to get a new little niece or nephew. They don't know which yet but it isn't long now. Just a few more days. Thoughts on Life and Death

No matter how old you live to be, life is short. The Bible says life is like a vapor. That is certainly true. As you get older, you look back and wonder where all those years went so quickly. Also, there is joy in Heaven when a Christian who has accepted Jesus as Savior, passes from this life into Heaven. Today, a family member passed from this life to Heaven and she is no longer burdened with the illness of this world. For her it is a happy day, but for her immediate family it is also a sad day of loss of a loved one.

The Babies are on the Way

We will soon have two more great grandchildren. What is your guess? Are they going to be boys or girls? We know that one is going to be a boy for sure. But the other one is anyone's guess. I am guessing a boy there too. So I won't be surprised if we have two new great grandsons before Christmas. What fun having new babies for Christmas.

70th Birthday Open House

We went to an Open House yesterday. It was an invitation to help a lady in our church celebrate her 70th birthday. I felt it was a bit young for an Open House. It seems most people wait until they are 80. But then again, a lot of people don't reach 80. Therefore, maybe it is a good idea. We had lots of good food to eat and it was like a family reunion for her with many of her family coming and also friends she went to school with.
