Unique Bunk Beds

A friend showed me this picture of a unique set of bunk beds they built.  It looks like they could be something from John Deere with the John Deere colors.  I think it is quite a neat idea, don't you?  I am sure the kids who sleep in them think they are wonderful.  Whoever made them must be quite handy as a carpenter. I would have enjoyed having a bunk bed like this for our kids when they were small.

Valentine Cookies

Look at the delicious Valentine cookies.  I got to eat a couple and they were delicious.  You don't really need Valentine's Day for an excuse to make these good cookies.  I just finished baking up a few red and yellow Christmas sugar cookie dough cookies and they are very good too.  It is fun to make different kinds of cookies.  I used to have a set of cookie cutters like a deck of cards, Ace, Spade, Diamond and Heart shaped.  They were always fun to make for the kids and everyone else liked them too.  Sometimes you want something different than chocolate chip which is everyone's favorite of course, that and Peanut Butter cookies.

Diamonds in the Snow

It is a beautiful sunny day.  We have a layer of fresh snow on the ground.  With the sun shining on it, it looks like millions of diamonds.  It is just beautiful.  Only God could make such a sight.  We got about 6" of fresh snow.  We were lucky as it is only the second snow this year.  The last one was back in December.  Other than that we have just had a dusting here and there or an inch or sometimes two inches.  We have had high winds though blowing everything around but not this time.  The sun came out and think it melted it enough on top to make it stay put.  That's a good thing.

Smiles

There are all different kinds of smiles.  This little guy is my great grandson.  He always has the biggest smile.  He's always so happy and he's always glad to see you.  He plays so well with his older brother and sister, smiling all the time.  He's busy walking now as good as he can.  He will soon be chasing them around the house.  It is funny to see such a little person walking at first but they grow up fast.

My Brother

I am going over to visit with my brother today.  We always go out for Mexican food.  We both love it and is our favorite.  I love to try new things on the menu and have gotten him to try other burritos other than just tacos.  Of course, our favorite dessert is the churros, rolled in lots of cinnamon sugar.  That is always a special treat.  Normally we don't eat that much sugar but you can't resist the churros.  We have a Mexican Restaurant here in town but they don't make them even half as good.  It is a beautiful sunny day to go over to his house after a snowy, strong windy day yesterday and it is warming up some today.

Freezing Rain

We got freezing rain Saturday night into Sunday.  I could skate on my deck.  It is probably 8 feet from the door to the mailbox to get my newspaper.  I couldn't take one step, it was so slick.  Then it rained making it worse.  I finally threw ice melt out on the deck.  After awhile I tried it again and it was breaking up the ice enough to get the Sunday paper in.  I would rather have snow than ice.  I stayed in where it was safe and warm Sunday.

Taco Tuesday

Tomorrow is Taco Tuesday with my brother.  We have had the worst weather the last two weeks and I haven't been able to get over there to go with him for lunch.  It looks like it is going to be the warmest day this week.  Should be in the 30's which is a regular heat wave compared to what it has been.  Watching the sun go down and the sky is really pretty.  Red sky at night, sailor's delight and it looks like it is going to be a good day.
