11 Year Old Kills 1,051 Pound Wild Boar

An 11 Year old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild boar. His father said it weighed in at a staggering l,051 pounds and measured 9 feet, 4 inches. That is from the base of its tail to the tip of its snout. Think hams as big as car tires. If these claims are accurate, this trophy boar would be bigger than Hogzilla, the famous wild hog that grew to seemingly mythical proportions after being killed in south Georgia in 2004. It was thought to weigh 1,000 pounds and measure 12 feet in length. But it was National Geographics experts who unearthed its remains and they believe it actually weighed about 800 pounds and was 8 feet long. This boy killed his first deer at age 5 and was out hunting with his father and two guides on May 3 when he killed Hogzilla II. He shot the animal eight times with a .50 caliber revolver and chased it for three hours through hilly woods before finishing it off with a point blank shot. He said he was a little bit scared but a bit excited too. And all the time there was the fear that the hog would turn and charge at them. He had just finished 6th grade on the honor roll at Christian Heritage Academy, which is a small private school. Just in case, to be extra safe, his dad and the two guides had high-powered rifles aimed and ready to fire in case the hot with 5-inch tusks decided to charge. It is huge. It measured 54 inches around the head, 74 inches around the shoulders and 11 inches from the eyes to the end of its snout. they are planning to have it made into sausage and think they will probably get 500 to 700 pounds of sausage. The boy said he prefers hunting pheasants to monster pigs. They are a little less dangerous. You think?
