Brita Faucet Filter

We just switched to a Brita faucet filter a few months ago and we just love it. It doesn't take up as much room in the sink. It has a light that flashes to tell you ahead of time when to buy the next filter. The filter comes out so easy, it is almost unbelievable. We are really sold on this Brita filter. We had used another name brand before and it was more cumbersome and kept splitting and spitting water and we had to change the whole unit several times instead of just the filter. That was pretty costly. Love this Brita!

Heat Wave

We have a terrific heat wave going on right now. Our air conditioner is running full-time and having trouble keeping up. It is set on 78 and is keeping it at 80 now. They say the temperature outside is 90 with a heat index of 104. We are retired and able to stay inside but I sure feel sorry for those who have to work outside in this weather. We are supposed to have a cold wave go through tonight. I use the term "cold" loosely because it will only drop the nighttime temps down to maybe 60 which is still warm. We will probably have a storm but they talk about it going NE of us. I hope so.

Total Knee Replacement

My brother has needed a total knee replacement for several years now. He had one done in 2000 and he should have had the second one done a few years later. But he kept putting it off. No one likes surgery. However, I have had 3 replacements and although it is painful, it is more painful to walk on a knee that needs replacing. I am glad he finally has it set up for September 28 and will get it done. He will feel so much better and be able to walk so much better again. He may not even have to use his cane.

Transunion Settlement

I have never gone through the experience of having my credit information compromised/ I hope it never happens. Today with all the identity theft, it is even more important that all your personal information be kept secure. Back in l987 to 2000, Transunion illegally sold such information of many of Americans. This, of course, was completely illegal and now it has come to a head. There has been a $75 million dollar fund set up for a Transunion Settlement for those people who had their credit information sold. A fine competent and experienced law firm is handling the claims and I read that you need to fill out a form and mail it in if you were one who applied for credit during those years. I am glad they caught them, even if it has been a number of years.

House For Sale

Our neighbor's house is for sale. It is a neat 2 bedroom with the laundry room on the main floor. They have done a great deal of remodeling and added a indoor sunporch where they have breakfast and often other meals and can look out at the flowers. They added a huge master bedroom and a beautiful bathroom with a corner shower that I just love. It also has a full basement. In front is a porch that extends the full width of the front of the house with windows so they can sit out there and watch the cars and people go by. They are only half a block from main street so it is very convenient. I hope they get it sold this summer. They are moving to Arizona permanently.

New Cars

Have you noticed all the new cars on the roads lately? Have you also noticed the car lots seem to be emptying out? We got a card the other day from a dealer almost begging us to bring in our car and trade for a new one. I think they are getting desperate. I know the dealer, where we bought our car, said they are unable to get enough new cars to sell so they have a low inventory. It also seems like used car lots are popping up all over the place. You can save thousands by buying a car with a few thousand miles on it.
