San Diego Rentals

We are up to our ears in snow this year and it is below zero again right now. I am ready for Spring. However, in the meantime I believe it would be great to go out to San Diego and visit our niece. Since she has a small apartment, I have been on the Internet looking at San Diego rentals. California Rains Spread Fear

It wasn't so long ago that the Santa Anna winds blew the wildfires all around Santa Barbara and other places, destroying all the trees and ground cover and many homes. Now the homes that are left are in danger of mudslides. When there is nothing to hold the ground from slipping, it will. Those people living near the areas that were scarred by recent wildfires are sandbagging around their homes. In some places they were urged to leave their homes on Tuesday as a storm approaching from the Pacific brought a threat of floods and mudslides.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzeneger ordered state agencies to prepare to aid local organizations in case of disaster. He said that the state stands ready to help local governments protect lives and property. There is a low-pressure area about 700 miles off the coast that was heading northeast and could bring an inch of rain through Thanksgiving and up to 4 inches in the mountains.

Fire Winds Ease over California

Weather forecasts have raised hopes of some respite from the wildfires raging out of control across southern California for the last four days. Forecasters say the Santa Ana winds, which fueled the spread of the flames and had reached hurricane strength, are just starting to die out. We have a niece in Escondido and so far her house hasn't burned but she was packed and staying with relatives 80 miles away and they hadn't let her go home yet as of yesterday. When we lived in California, we learned the called them the Santana winds because they believed they came from Satan. Interesting, isn't it?
