Cubans are heading to Mexico and they are stealing fast boats to do it. Lazaro Mendez got an alert that his boat has been stolen from the Florida Keys. With technology being what it is today, he grabbed his laptop and tracked his fishing boat's position by satellite. He could see it stop and refuel at sea and then shoot off toward Cuba.
This was the latest in a bunch of thefts of Florida boats. They like them because of their speed. He was actually able to get his boat back and come face to face with the men who stole it. He was a lucky man. I am sure many haven't gotten their boats back.

EU Agrees to Lift Cuba Sanctions
The news from Brussels, Belgium is that the European Union's external relations commissioner says the EU has agreed to lift sanctions on Cuba. The EU leaders feel they have to cooperate with changes in Cuba after Raul Castro took over as the head of the country's government from his ailing brother, Fidel. Some EU nations have been reluctant to lift the diplomatic sanctions. They say they want to see Cuba improve human rights first. Washington, which imposed a trade blockade in Cuba nearly 50 years ago, has no immediate plans to lift it. Some indications seem to show that Raul is worse than Fidel. Only time will tell.

Cubans Vote in Municipal Election
Cuba is holding elections to choose more than 15,000 municipal council members. It is the beginning of a process that will culminate in delegates electing a new National Assembly next March. These are the first elections since President Fidel Castro temporarily handed over power to his younger brother, Raul, over 14 months ago. Critics, led b the United States and several European Union nations, say the process in the one-party state is undemocratic.
