Israel tanks Rumble into Southern Gaza

Israeli tanks pushed into the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, drawing mortar fire from Palestinian militants. This intensified violence that has chipped away at a tenuous cease-fire. There is never going to be peace there no matter how hard anyone tries. They have been fighting for 2000 years, what makes anyone think they are going to stop this war and have peace. Israel should have never given up the Gaza Strip. That was insanity in the first place.

Israel and Gaza's ruling Islamic militant Hamas movement have been trading fire for two weeks. This, after nearly five months of relative quiet. The violence comes as the Egyptian negotiated truce that began June 19 is due to expire next month. It goes way back to Ishmael and Isaac and there will never be peace until Jesus returns to settle it all once and for all.

Egypt Protests EU Vote on Nuclear Free Zone

Egypt has sent a high level protest to dozens of European nations expressing astonishment and regret at their refusal to endorse Cairo's call for a Middle East Nuclear Free Zone at a conference last month. The October 4 letter, made available Wednesday to The Associated Press, was signed by Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit and asked for an explanation. Other Muslim nations and Egypt consider Israel the main nuclear threat in the region. The US and its allies see Iran's defiance of the UN Security Council in its development of technology that could be used to make the bomb, as the greatest menace to Middle East peace.

Israel Set to Free Palestinian Prisoners

Right now there are more than 10,000 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli jails. The last major release of prisoners was in July, after the Hamas movement seized control of the Gaza Strip. Now the Israeli cabinet has agreed to free about 90 Palestinian prisoners in a move aimed at boosting support for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. They say the prisoners' names will be confirmed later. It's expected that they will not include anyone who has killed or wounded Israelis. You certainly can't blame them for that.
