Valentine Cookies

Look at the delicious Valentine cookies.  I got to eat a couple and they were delicious.  You don't really need Valentine's Day for an excuse to make these good cookies.  I just finished baking up a few red and yellow Christmas sugar cookie dough cookies and they are very good too.  It is fun to make different kinds of cookies.  I used to have a set of cookie cutters like a deck of cards, Ace, Spade, Diamond and Heart shaped.  They were always fun to make for the kids and everyone else liked them too.  Sometimes you want something different than chocolate chip which is everyone's favorite of course, that and Peanut Butter cookies.

Zucchini Bread

My neighbor raises a lot of zucchini every year. They say there are more zucchini in the world than people. I don't know about that but she freezes it and then makes the best zucchini bread in the winter. I gave her some pecans and she made some yesterday. It is delicious with pecans. Last time she used walnuts and it didn't have the flavor that pecans give it. She also brought me some chocolate chip cookies. What a great neighbor!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Is there anything better than a really good chocolate chip cookie? I used to think that those that were already made to bake were probably not as good as homemade. However, I have changed my mind since the kids next door have been selling them. Nestle makes a terrific chocolate chip cookie that can be frozen or just leave the pack in the refrigerator and break off a few at a time and bake them. This last time, I got some white chocolate macadamia and chocolate chip cookies and they came in bags in boxes. You just open the bag, put as many as you want to bake on a cookie sheet and just like that you have the best fresh cookies. I just love the convenience.
