Trees are Budding

The trees are really budding now. We took the wire protection off our lilac bush. We had to put it around it to keep the rabbits from chewing off the bark. It almost killed it the first year we moved in but little shoots grew out of the main stalk and now we have quite a big bush again. Every year for the last couple of years, the buds have gotten frozen off and we didn't get any flowers. I hope that doesn't happen again this year as they smell so very good when they are in bloom.

Spring Weather

It was just a beautiful Spring day today. The tulips are really coming up fast now with some warmer weather. We got the rain gauge put out so you know it is Spring. Have to fill up the finch feeders and get the hummingbird feeder set out. The orioles are around and we should see some soon. I saw a Bluejay yesterday and it was the first one I had seen here since we moved here nearly 9 years ago. Beautiful birds but ornery. Lots of little wrens picking around in the grass. My husband got the wire off around the lilac bush. It saves its life as the rabbits would chew off all the bark every winter.

Lilacs

It's the spring season when the Lilacs are in bloom and the whole world smells wonderful from their blooms. They come in several colors. Our neighbors have white, we have a dark blue and at our other home, we used to have a most beautiful light blue. but all of them have the most beautiful smell. I love to bring big bouquets into the house and the whole house smells like lilacs. You haven't lived until you have lived where the lilacs bloom in spring. It is just wonderful. I love them.
