Sweet Corn

We had the best sweet corn yet for supper tonight. Our son called and said as he traveled from Springfield, Mo. to Iowa, he saw corn fields so dried up from lack of rain that they looked like they do in the fall when they are ready to pick. That is a real shame. Much corn is going into Ethanol and into gas tanks and I hope they never find that they are short of food all over using it this way. I think it is foolish. Drill baby, drill. We have enough oil in the USA if the NUTS would shutup that we could be selling our oil to other companies instead of letting them hold us up for oil. What happened to common sense. It seems to have flown the coop.

Sweet Corn

I see sweet corn is starting to come into the stores now but it doesn't look so good. So think I will wait awhile till they start selling it out of wagons on the highway. You know it came fresh from the field whereas that in the store has a dried out look. They say even sweet corn is going to be much more expensive this year due to all the rained out fields. I hope we get some though as it is so good.

It's Sweet Corn Season

Picked up our first sweet corn last night to have tonight. The season is short so have to get all we can while it's ready. The best sweet corn of all should be into the local grocery store soon. It's called Jake's sweet corn and whoever he is, he raises the best sweet corn.
