Curtains

I have been looking around for some new curtains. It is hard to find what I want in the sizes I want. Our local store had quite a few but in such dark colors. I want something white or bright. We will be going to the big super Wal-Mart store tomorrow so I can search their curtains and see what they have. Hope to find some the right size. I have been checking through the Internet to see what they have available online so have some idea of what to look for.

Shopping at Wal-Mart

I really enjoy shopping at Wal-Mart. They have such a clean and organized store. We took two watches in the other day and the woman took links out of the wrist bands at no charge. We always can find great bargains there and we always get our cereal there as it is so much cheaper than our home town store. We do buy most of our groceries in town but when we get to Wal-Mart, we get things we can't always get here at home. We think it is the best store around.

Exxon Passes Wal-Mart on Fortune List

The 2009 Fortune 500 list is out. Exxon Mobil Corp. unseated Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in the competition. Exxon shrugged off the oil price bubble and weathered what the magazine called the worst year ever for the country's largest publicly traded companies. They took in $442.85 billion dollars in revenue last year. That is up almost 19 percent from 2007. They also raked in the biggest profit, earning $45.2 billion.

Wal-Mart Names New VP of Grocery Division

A former executive from rival British retailers Safeway PLC and Tesco has been named by Wal-Mart as its executive vice president of grocery merchandise. Jack Sinclair, 57, will be in charge of planning, category management and general oversight of Wal-Mart's U.S. grocery business. He will report to executive vice president and chief merchandising officer John Fleming. He was group marketing and trading director at Safeway PLC, the British grocery chain, which is unrelated to North American Safeway Inc. He previously worked for British retailer Tesco Stores Ltd. which is launching a U.S.l effort also.

Wal-Mart Sales Rise

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer, said November sales rose 1.5 percent as shoppers stocked up on holiday food and gifts. The sales were within the company's forecast of unchanged to up 2 percent at locations open at least a year. Same store sales may increase from 1 percent to 3 percent this month, the Bentonville, Arkansas based company said. Wal-Mart increased post-Thanksgiving discounts to lure shoppers hit by higher gasoline, housing and food costs.

Wall- Mart Sales Soar

The world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said same store sales in June rose 2.4 percent excluding fuel sales. They soared past the average analyst estimate of 0.8 percent. The company also maintained its second quarter earnings guidance, saying its target range is achievable. Total sales for the five weeks ended July 6, rose 9.4 percent to $35.81 billion from $32.74 billion with the namesake Wal-Mart stores chains posting a 7.1 percent sales gain to $22.94 billion. Sales at Sam's Club also rose.
