Family Reunion Picnic
We had a wonderful picnic on the 5th of July. It all started with my brother-in-laws birthday falling on that date. He passed away about 5 years ago and his oldest son kept up the picnic. He has remarried and all her relatives come too, plus those of his first wife who passed away from cancer about 7 years ago. All the cousins love to get together and bring up the old memories when they played together on the farms. A good time was had by all and more food than anyone could eat. It was a beautiful weather day, kind of overcast so not so hot and a good breeze.

Aunt Ethel
My last living Aunt died a couple of days ago. The funeral will be on Wednesday in our home town. I am going to ride down with my brother. Since we have a long drive tomorrow, it is almost too much to go again. However, it will be great to have someone else do the driving. The weather has been much cooler and the humidity has dropped a great deal making things more livable. Will be seeing relatives and first cousins we haven't seen in some time. Funerals are almost better than family reunions as you see more people you haven't seen in years that are more distant relatives.

Cousins
I got to see a lot of my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th cousins today. The problem with not seeing them in maybe 40 years, is that they all got old and I didn't recognize half of them. They remembered me but I wouldn't have known them if I passed them on the street. I saw people from town that I probably knew at one time but didn't remember their names. It was kind of strange to be among relatives and feel the room was full of strangers.
