Funeral Visitation
i lost another brother-in-law last week and we went down to the visitation. I would rather go to visitations than funerals as you can visit with the family more, or so it seems. The whole family is growing quite old so it seems funerals are becoming more and more frequent. He was 88 so he had a long life but the last 10 years were spent in a nursing home so that isn't much quality of life. He went in his sleep and I guess that would have to be the most peaceful way to go.

Rap Music
I don't know if you like rap music but I do. Our grandson composed the best song for his grandfather's funeral. Everyone just loves it. He has a real talent for this and I think he will go far one day in the music field. It comes so naturally for him so that makes it easy. It is clear and you can understand the words, which is more than you can say for a lot of rap music.

Aunt Ethel
My last living Aunt died a couple of days ago. The funeral will be on Wednesday in our home town. I am going to ride down with my brother. Since we have a long drive tomorrow, it is almost too much to go again. However, it will be great to have someone else do the driving. The weather has been much cooler and the humidity has dropped a great deal making things more livable. Will be seeing relatives and first cousins we haven't seen in some time. Funerals are almost better than family reunions as you see more people you haven't seen in years that are more distant relatives.

Funerals
Funerals are not my favorite thing to attend but when it is someone close to you or when it is someone you think a great deal of, it is nice to go and see them one more time. We know they are no longer there in that body, but if they are a born again Christian, then they are in Heaven. That makes it more of a celebration of life in eternity with God in Heaven rather than a sad event. We will be going to one this week of a very good friend who has professed her love for Jesus for over 90 years. Her husband was there to greet her, I am sure, when she arrived and she is walking on streets of gold now with no pain and with joy.

Suicide Bomber Kills 18 at Iraqi Funeral
A suicide bomber apparently targeting a senior security official blew himself up inside a funeral tent on Monday, killing 18 people in the latest of a series of deadly attacks chipping away at the notion of a calmer Iraq. The U.S. military has repeatedly warned that the fight against insurgents is not over, and the bombing in a village north of Baghdad was the third in as many days in Sunni Arab areas thought to have been largely rid of al-Qaida militants.

Funeral of Jerry Falwell
Thousands attended the funeral of Jerry Falwell who be remembered as a champion of conservative Christian values. He fearlessly galvanized the religious right into a powerful force in American politics. He started as a young preacher in l956 at the Thomas Road Baptist church with ust 35 in attendance at that time. It was an old abandoned soda bottling plant. There were more than 10,000 people attending the funeral, and many were forced into overflow seating.Pat Robertson said Jerry was a champion of the fundamental values that we hold dear. Falwell was outspoken in his condemnation of homosexuality and pornography, and his opposition to abortion led him to get involved in politics. Rev. Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Bill Graham said he had been asked whether he agreed with Falwell. He drew applause when he responded with "Every time he opened the Bible, I agreed with Jerry Falwell". More than 33,000 people had viewed Falwell's body over four days as it lay in repose.
