Springtime

It is Springtime at last and we have had some good rain and more coming in about 5 days. This is the season of Easter. Families all over are planning big dinners. They want to get together with their families and have a good time. The weather is going to cooperate so the kids will be able to go outside. It has been nice and warm, finally. It has been a rough, cold winter but the flowers are beginning to come up now. The trees are budding and the Robins are back. It is great!

Groundhog Day

Here it is again. Groundhog Day today. And guess what? He saw his shadow (shock) and we will have 6 more weeks of winter. I don't remember in my lifetime when we didn't have 6 more weeks of winter. Tomorrow promises more snow. It is going to be a long Spring the way it is going. February can be a very cold brutal month. We look forward to June when it will probably really warm up. May can be cold and rainy too sometimes. Easter outfits are covered with winter coats, mittens and scarves. Not alot of fun.

Springlike Day

It is just a beautiful day here.  It is 42 degrees already.  The snow has been rapidly melting for several days now.  The wind is going to shift though tomorrow.  Then it will be like Winter again.  Temperatures are going to drop way down to single digits and even below zero at night by Monday.  Sunday will be a whole different day than today so better get out and enjoy it.  If you have anything you need to get done, today is the day.

Travel

Everyone seems to be getting in those last travels before winter sets in. It is a good idea because it sounds like we could have a harsh winter. I hope not. It is very cool and rainy today and the winds are picking up. They talk of flooding and to watch out for flooded streets. I think it is a good day to stay home.

January Freeze

Boy, did we have a blizzard yesterday. It was a good old fashioned blizzard where the temperatures were down to and below zero and 3-4 inches of fluffy snow blowing 45 to 50 miles an hour. You could hardly see your neighbors. I looked out the window and could not see past the neighbors swing set. Now - that is BAD! There were so many accidents on the roads, freeways and even in town. Why don't people stay home when they can't see to drive?

What Happened to Winter?

It has been so warm for December, you have to pinch yourself and tell yourself it's winter. There isn't any snow and the lake isn't frozen yet.
