Decisions

I have spent an hour trying to decide whether to go out and get the mail.  I drive the car up to the mailboxes and the driveway and road is covered with a coating of thick ice.  I had to be very careful this morning when I walked out on the deck to get the newpaper.  It was very icy and slick.  Was glad to be back in the house safely.  We also have thick fog.  Can just see across the neighbor's yard and that is about it.  It is supposed to stay till tomorrow.  Praying all my kids get safely to work and back.  There were many car accidents yesterday and also semis on the freeway.

Taco Tuesday

It is Taco Tuesday at Taco Johns.  However, it is just too cold to go to my brother's today.  The wind chills are dangerous.  You don't want to get out on the highway and have a breakdown, you would suffer frostbite in no time at all.  The wise thing to do today is stay inside where it is warm and cozy.  He said he stopped at an ATM yesterday and nearly froze his hand waiting to get the money out of it.  He was glad to get back home again.  It is zero right now, up from -3 just a bit ago.  It is going to be a very cold week.

Springlike Day

It is just a beautiful day here.  It is 42 degrees already.  The snow has been rapidly melting for several days now.  The wind is going to shift though tomorrow.  Then it will be like Winter again.  Temperatures are going to drop way down to single digits and even below zero at night by Monday.  Sunday will be a whole different day than today so better get out and enjoy it.  If you have anything you need to get done, today is the day.

Good food

My daughter is trying new recipes.  This one was a big hit.  Very tasty and she shared some with me.  I really appreciate her cooking as I don't do much cooking for myself anymore.  I microwave a lot of things and also eat out now and then.  It is nice to have something different to try.  And it is really good when it is tasty.

Supper Date

I have a date with my daughter tonight.  We are going to meet at the Pizza Ranch when she gets off work. It is one of our favorite places to eat.  They have a huge salad bar and hot soup this time of the year.  Then they have cheese sticks and dip, lots of various pizzas and cactus bread for dessert.  You can't miss out on the mashed potatoes and the best chicken gravy you can find anywhere.  A vegetable, macaroni and cheese, broasted chicken and broasted potatoes and BBQ chicken round out any meal.  It would be amazing if you don't overeat as everything is soooo good. :0)
