How Old Are They?

Centarians just keep on going and growing. Iowa has 688 people that are 100 years of age or older and they rank second nationally in percentage of population. O lady, who is 105, says her longevity is because she is Scandinavian and it's hard to get rid of us, she says. She was among 94 Iowans age 105 or older as of May 1 according to the Department of elder affairs statistics. All 688 of Iowa's centenarians were be honored with a luncheon during the 28th annual Governor's conference on aging held last week. This lady says she guesses people are living longer than they used to. She can remember when people died at 70 and they were OLD!
