4th of July

The 4th of July is almost upon us. That means the year is all down hill from here. The corn is blowing in the wind and the beans are really growing too. We are enjoying temperatures in the 70's instead of 90-100 and the humidity is way down. It is so nice to have the windows open and no clouds or rain in the forecast for several days now. Hope everyone has a fun day on the 4th. Have a family picnic or go see fireworks or something fun.

Double Grandparents Again!

One of our twin daughter and her husband are going to be double grandparents again around the first of December. They have twins themselves and 4 years ago both twins got married a week apart. Then 2 years later they both had their first child, one a boy and the other a girl. Now those twins and their mates are expecting their second child and you guessed it, both girls are due about the same time again. So in a very short time, their folks will have 4 grandchildren and we will have a total of 8 great grandchildren. Isn't that neat?

Uncles and Aunts

Uncles and Aunts are a very important part of all families. Some are special and more of a favorite than others but they are all important just the same. Uncle Neal is special to all my kids because he kind of grew up with them. I got married young and he was 3 years younger yet so he grew up with our family too. Our oldest boy has so many actions, faces, and mannerisms of his Uncle Neal that sometimes I call him Neal. Relatives are such an important part of every family.

Master's Degree

Our grandson, Josh, got his Master's Degree last week. He is the first in the family to get such a degree. Here is a picture of him and his family. They all had a good time touring New York City, Washington and Philadelphia while they were there with more of the family.

It is quite a sight to see the Statue of Liberty in person. My husband remembers it when his ship went by it leaving New York for Germany way back in l951. I think it something you would never ever forget.

We are very proud of Josh and all of our family and their families. Our family has really grown in nearly 59 years.
