Great Grandchildren

Grandchildren are great.  However, I think great grandchildren are even better yet.  You babysit grandchildren when they are small for your children, but when the great grandchildren come along, your children get that chance.  There are so many birthday parties, you get to enjoy cake and ice cream a lot.  Also great meals usually go along with the birthday parties.  I have 13 great grandchildren now and I am sure there will be lots more in the future whether I am here to see them or not. :0)

Christmas Fun

We had two Christmas dinners, one out of town and one in town.  There was so much food and it was all delicious.  Got to see many of the grandkids and great grandkids too.  Had a lot of fun watching the little ones open their gifts.  Children really make Christmas.  I got lots of great gifts that are very useful for me.

Fun with the Grandkids

It was fun for all and lots of good pizza. Here you see Grammy having a great time with a couple of her grandchildren. It is always fun when they get together. The kids had the time of their lives. They love their grandparents so much. It is fun to watch them all play together.

Having Fun With Grammy

Grammy is watching the grandchildren today. It is a cloudy, cold, rainy day so she decided to find something different for them to do. She suggested they play beauty salon and the kids were all for it. Of course, they wanted to fix grammy's hair too. So while she rolled up her granddaughters hair, granddaughter did her best to roll up grammy's hair too. Grandson could have a play haircut and he thought that was fun. You just have to use a little imagination to entertain the little ones. They will remember the special times they spent with their grammy.

Eating out with Grammy

There is never so much fun as eating out with your Grammy and Grammy has just as much fun as granddaughter.
Here you see them having a great time together. Grammy is making memories for her grandchild that she will never forget. Good times will always be remembered with the Grammy that took time out to enjoy her grandchildren and they grow up way too fast.

Two Thanksgivings

We have a lot to be thankful for and another one of those things is that we are invited to two Thanksgiving dinners this year. Tomorrow is the first one, of course and the other will be on Saturday. We will get to see lots of our grandchildren this way and that is pretty neat. Saturday we will be seeing four little great grandchildren and that is always special too. Looking forward to lots of good food and fellowship with our family.

Grammy Love

There is nothing like Grammy's love. It is fun having your own children but I think grandchildren are more fun. I know one of the reasons is that you don't have them 24/7 and have all the work and responsibility that goes along with your own children. That is what makes it so much fun to get together with your grandchildren. You always have a good time and they are so happy to see you.

Family is Growing

Our family is growing. Our children have their families now and they are for the most part, grown up and many have married. Now the grandchildren's families are growing too. Pictured here is one of our grandsons and his bride and their two boys. It seems like yesterday we were babysitting our grandson and his twin sister and now he has two children of his own. We now have four generations of family and it's still growing.

Family is Growing

Our family has sure grown since we got married nearly 60 years ago. We certainly obeyed God's word to Adam and Eve to go forth and populate the earth. Here are two of the latest additions to our family in the past 25+ years. Our granddaughter is carrying little great grandson around in the latest type of baby carriers. He is getting really big though and I wonder how much longer she can do that. It hurts my back to think about it :0) He is really growing up quickly.

More First Cousins

Kaelyn and Emry are first cousins and they are only 13 days apart. They each have a little brother now too so their Grandpa and Grammy found themselves grandparents of 4 within 2 years. They have so much fun with those grandkids and love them so much. It is so neat to see such a great loving family. And we are blessed to be their great grandparents and be alive to enjoy them too. Pictured here is Emry's Mom, Di, coming to the rescue with treatment for a mosquito bite.

Easter Dinner

We had an early Easter dinner today at our daughter and son-in-law's. All the grandchildren were home. They have 4 grandchildren now and we hadn't seen the last two 4-month olds in person yet. It was a great ham dinner with a delicious dessert. We brought home some delicious leftovers too. We had a great visit and it was do much fun talking with the 2 year olds. They can really talk.

Family Trip

Tomorrow we are going on a family trip to see more family. Two of our grandchildren are in new homes since we saw them last. We want to go see our latest new great grandbaby too. And of course we will have a great visit and also go out to eat with them. We are looking forward to a great time and hope the winter weather cooperates.

Grandchildren are Fun

Grandchildren are a great deal of fun. Our children have two grandchildren already. Here is a picture of grandpa (our son-in-law) having a good time with his granddaughter. My, how time flies. It seems like only yesterday that we were taking care of their little children and now they have a child of their own. They are truly a gift from God.

Master's Degree

Our grandson, Josh, got his Master's Degree last week. He is the first in the family to get such a degree. Here is a picture of him and his family. They all had a good time touring New York City, Washington and Philadelphia while they were there with more of the family.

It is quite a sight to see the Statue of Liberty in person. My husband remembers it when his ship went by it leaving New York for Germany way back in l951. I think it something you would never ever forget.

We are very proud of Josh and all of our family and their families. Our family has really grown in nearly 59 years.

Grandchildren

We are going to have 2 more grandchildren this year for Christmas. The girls are due almost the same day near Dec. 1. Our granddaughter and her husband have a little 17 month old daughter now. Our grandson and his wife have a little l7 month old son. And now they are both going to do it again. This will make our son-in-law and daughter double grandparents for the second time in 4 years. It is one for the books I think. Not only that but the grandson and granddaughter are twins and were married a week apart so they continue to do everything together it would appear. Such excitement.

What a joy little chiildren are. They are so innocent and trusting. They have no idea of what lies ahead of them in the world of work and raising a family and all the stress that goes with it. Fortunately, they can just enjoy every day of their lives, learning new thing and new words. They can play for hours and then nap and play again. They are such a delight to watch accomplishing new things such as eating their first solid foods in their high chairs, or climbing up and down stairs. They have so much to learn and our little great granddaughter is learning so much so quickly. It is a joy to keep up with her on the Internet.

Grandchildren

I think one of the best things about growing older is having grandchildren. But even better than that, is having great grandchildren. I think they call them that because they are great! They are so much fun to watch grow up from little babies into tiny people that walk and pretty soon they are talking.

We have six of them, 3 boys and 3 girls. Two of them are just 13 days apart in age so it is really fun to watch them mature. Emry started walking first but Kaelyn could crawl just as fast as he could walk and I think she felt she could get where she was going much faster crawling. But now she is walking too and they seem so little to be walking.
But I remember when our kids started walking, they looked so little to be walking too.

Now they are starting to talk and their parents are really excited over every new word. I remember those days too. And new teeth are popping in so fast. Emry has a whole mouthful of teeth but Kaelyn will catch up. They are both eating people food, not baby food. I've attached a picture of them as we are so proud of them.

Here Come the Police!

You better what out. Here come the Police with their new vehicles they got for Christmas. Our little grandchildren are doing great. They really had fun at Christmas. They can get around quite fast now but this will make another way to have Mom chasing after them. Pretty cute, don't you think?

Children really bring so much job to Christmas. Their Mom's took tons of pictures of them and we have sure enjoyed looking at them. They grow so fast. Last year at Christmas time, they were sleeping little babies and look at them now. Next year, they will really be on the go. So much fun.

Our Little Scarecrow

This little guy is our great grandson, Emry. He lives in Texas but we get these cute pictures of him over the internet. It is really neat. The little ones are so much fun because everything is new and exciting for them. They have such a big world ahead of them. They can play with a fancy new toy or a cardbox and be just as happy crawling in and out of the box.

Our children were just the same. They got all excited on their birthdays. I don't think it was so much what they got as how many gifts they had to open. And I always tried to bake them a cake in a shape like a teddy bear, butterfly, fish or something different and that was a great deal of fun for me. I had a recipe book for "cutup cakes" and you could make almost anything if you had the patience.

Grandchildren

We were able to spend some time the last two days with a number of our grandchildren and children. It was not a happy occasion that we attended. It was the funeral of a good Christian man though and we know he is happy in Heaven today. Our grandaughter's birthday is tomorrow and she will be 22 so we gave her a call tonight. We called tonight as she will be in college tomorrow and hard to get hold of. One of our grandsons turned 23 last Wednesday and they are all so tall. I am so very short so you can really see a difference when I stand next to 6 ft grandsons and I am 4 ft 8 inches. Well that's the long and the short of it for now.
