Children Birthdays
There are a great many of my great grandchildren's birthdays in November. There also are several in December. Three out of 4 of my own are in November and December. My sister's birthday is in December and my brother's birthday is in November. They seem to be really popular months for births. We are all waiting anxiously now for the birth of a little great grandgirl who is due November 24. That will make 17 for me. Quite a blessing, wouldn't you agree? Another thing to be thankful on Thanksgiving.

Great Grandchildren
I am richly blessed with great grandchildren. This past week I gained 2 new great grandgirls thru adoption by their new parents. They have two cute little boys, ages 4 and 6. Now they have two girls to round out the family. They have big hearts to want to give these little girls a wonderful Christian home. They are young enough not to remember the first hard times of their lives. That is a blessing all by itself. If I have counted right, that makes 15 great grandchildren for me now.

Great Grandchildren
Grandchildren are great. However, I think great grandchildren are even better yet. You babysit grandchildren when they are small for your children, but when the great grandchildren come along, your children get that chance. There are so many birthday parties, you get to enjoy cake and ice cream a lot. Also great meals usually go along with the birthday parties. I have 13 great grandchildren now and I am sure there will be lots more in the future whether I am here to see them or not. :0)

Christmas Fun
We had two Christmas dinners, one out of town and one in town. There was so much food and it was all delicious. Got to see many of the grandkids and great grandkids too. Had a lot of fun watching the little ones open their gifts. Children really make Christmas. I got lots of great gifts that are very useful for me.

Flower Girl and Ring Bearer
The little flower girl and ring bearer are brother and sister. He had the cutest cap on but he wouldn't leave it on for the whole wedding service. They did a very good job for only being 2 and 4 years old. The little flower girl danced a lot that night after the reception and had a great time. Both are my great grandchildren and a joy to see having a great time while their uncle got married in beautiful Colorado.

The Old Tire Swing
Remember the days of the old tire swing? We had one and we used it a great deal every summer and even in the winter sometimes. It is a simple way to provide lots of fun for children and inexpensive too. Here you see two of the great grandchildren having the time of their lives playing on the tire swing. There is so much nice room to run and play on the farm.

Almost makes you wish you were a kid again.

New Kittens
The great grandchildren are ecstatic over their new batch of kittens. I remember when I was a kid, we had lots of new little kittens. We named many of them and had pet cats for years. After I got married, my husband was more fond of dogs so we had dogs for all our lives. We just lost our little Boston Terrier, Holly, last year. You certainly miss your pets when they are gone.

Easter Sunday
This was the most beautiful sunny day. We had rain yesterday which kind of put a damper on some of the early Easter egg hunts. We had an early Easter dinner on Saturday. The Mom's hid the eggs all over the house though and the great grandchildren had a ball finding them. Their Grammy brought out Easter baskets with little windmills, bunny masks and candy and they were delighted. Even the adults got something as well. I got a neat jar of jelly beans with a note attached explaining the colors, such as the red ones stood for the blood Jesus shed for us, etc. Also received a big chocolate candy bar with a cross on it. Very unique and special.

Computer Savey
The children now days use a computer like we use the telephone. Everything comes easy for them because they start out young. They can work things for adults that the adults don't know how to do. Here you see a couple of my great grandchildren with iPads. Gee Whiz, I don't even have one or know how to run one. It is just amazing to me and will get more amazing I think as they grow up.

Hugs for Great Grammy
Grandchildren are so much fun but great grandchildren are even more fun. What a blessing they are. One of them told me the other day that I was the best great grammy! What a delight. They are so sweet and so happy to come and see you and have you come and see them too.

Little Babies
My, do the little babies grow fast. Yesterday, three of my great grandchildren came to visit with their Mom and Grammy. Their little brother is growing so fast and he smiles a great deal. What a sweetheart.
Had lots of fun making him smile and he is so strong already. He's wanting to stand up on your lap. It is just amazing how fast they grow.

Twas the Day After Christmas
Here it is and it won't be Christmas for another year. But that year will fly by just like the rest of them did. It sneaks up on you so fast and it is over in a flash. Next is New Year's Eve. I had so much fun playing a game with my kids and grandkids. It was so much fun watching the little ones open their presents. Kids make Christmas. They are so excited over every single thing about Christmas.

Catch It if You Can
Here you see two of our great grandchildren at play outdoors on a beautiful summer day. They are trying to catch the bubbles and having a great time doing it. It is a simple thing to do and keeps them busy for a long time chasing after the bubbles. It is an inexpensive entertainment for them as well. They are also getting lots of exercise, fresh air and sunshine.

Ready for Church
Don't they look sharp? They are all dressed up and ready for church. They go to church every Sunday and really enjoy it. They are growing up so fast. It seems like yesterday that they were born and now they are walking and talking.

Two Thanksgivings
We have a lot to be thankful for and another one of those things is that we are invited to two Thanksgiving dinners this year. Tomorrow is the first one, of course and the other will be on Saturday. We will get to see lots of our grandchildren this way and that is pretty neat. Saturday we will be seeing four little great grandchildren and that is always special too. Looking forward to lots of good food and fellowship with our family.

New Home on the Farm
Here is a picture of part of the yard on the acreage where our Grandson and his family have moved. It is a great place to raise kids. They will have plenty of room to play inside and outside. It gives them a chance to get out of their apartment and out into the world and play in the sunshine and also in the snow this winter. They have a beautiful place to grow up. We were on an acreage for 21 years with our children and I know it was good for them.

Family is Growing

Our family is growing. Our children have their families now and they are for the most part, grown up and many have married. Now the grandchildren's families are growing too. Pictured here is one of our grandsons and his bride and their two boys. It seems like yesterday we were babysitting our grandson and his twin sister and now he has two children of his own. We now have four generations of family and it's still growing.

Easter Dinner
We had an early Easter dinner today at our daughter and son-in-law's. All the grandchildren were home. They have 4 grandchildren now and we hadn't seen the last two 4-month olds in person yet. It was a great ham dinner with a delicious dessert. We brought home some delicious leftovers too. We had a great visit and it was do much fun talking with the 2 year olds. They can really talk.

Facebook Photos

It is really nice to see photos on Facebook. It makes it easy to keep up with the great grandchildren's growth. Their folks and grandparents are posting photos all the time. I think it is really neat. This little guy is growing up so fast. It seems like you blink and they are walking and you blink again and they are going to school. A guy on television said that once and then you blink and they are graduating and another blink and they are getting married. Then the next blink you are grandparents and another blink and we are now great grandparents. It seems when you look back, it goes about that fast.

Grandchildren
It has been awhile since we have seen the latest little new great grandsons. They are growing up so fast. We sure enjoy the photos on Facebook. It is an easy way to keep up with those not living right close by. And with all the winter weather, it hasn't been easy to travel either. It will be nice when it is Spring again and the grass is green.
