Church
We had a big blizzard here a couple days ago. It is still wreaking havoc with the roads. The road graders are having a hard time keeping the roads open and clean. I decided to stay home from church this morning. I do not want to take a chance on landing in the ditch. There are so many wonderful Christian television programs on that I can watch so I don't miss out on learning more from the Bible. I would rather be safe at home than sorry I went out on the road when it is only 14 degrees right now.

Four Generations
Not all families are blessed to have four generations alive at the same time. Some even have five generations and that is really something. This is our four generation picture of one of the newest great grandchild. These are precious pictures to keep forever. Every child, grandchild, great grandchild is a miracle and gift from God. We are very blessed.

Winning Trip
My grandaughter's husband won a trip for them to a nice warm place. They are so lucky to be getting away from these terrible cold termperatures. The grandmothers and grandpa are watching the kids while they are gone. They are missing out on some terrible bitter wind chills and now more snow is on the way. At least it sounds like we won't get a lot this time and it will go mainly south of us. My son lives where their snow had all melted away and now they are talking as much as 5 or 6 inches of new snow. This is one of those winters that will go down in the history books. I believe they said it was back in 1996 and back in the 1980's since we have had a winter like this. I guess we are paying for the last 2 decent winters we have had.

Blizzard Warning
We have been under a blizzard warning since yesterday. Now it is starting up. Snow fell overnight. The light fluffy stuff so when the wind begins to blow it will be whiteout here. They say we could see wind gusts up to 50 and 60 mph making the wind chills about the same as that. This is supposed to last until tomorrow night and then an additional day of below zero temperatures all day long. This has been the hardest winter since 1982 and they say anyone under 40 years has never seen a winter like this one. They have also said we could have "thunder snow". I don't know if we have ever had that before but I guess it means more snow than usual. We can't wait for Spring.

Ice Skates
I never could learn to ice skate. I spent more time sitting on the ice than skating. It might come in handy now if I could ice skate as we have had freezing rain again and all is slick. Makes for dangerous driving too. The winds came up in the night and are gusting as high as 50 mph an hour. We were blessed now to get the couple inches of snow overnight but now I see a few spits of snow in the air. At least we don't have any loose snow on the ground to spoil travelling vision on the roads around here. Other places aren't so blessed.

Terrible Weather
We just went through the big arctic blast that has hit most of the United States. We had days and days of below zero temperatures during the day. Then with the wind chills, it was common to have -50 and -60 wind chills. A great many of my neighbors had frozen pipes. My brother, who lives in another town, had his water freeze up too. He is elderly and I am so glad he had a young friend who could come and thaw out the pipes for him. It has started to warm up. At least it now above zero and it hit 32 today but we got fog that caused freezing on all the roads and a coating over that, making driving and walking dangerous. I am lucky I could stay in and didn't have to go anywhere. It is now 32 degrees and lightly snowing. We don't need any more snow either.
