Fish Fry Tonight

We found a new place close to home where we can go for Friday night fish fry. Not only that but it is a new restaurant with a full menu so you can have anything you want. They serve fish all day so you don't just have to go at night. They have huge cinnamon rolls that looked like something I would like to buy and bring home for breakfast tomorrow. The weather has straightened out. The fog is gone. The rain quit but it is so hot and humid now. But at least it is good weather for going out to eat.

Restaurants

We like to try new Mexican restaurants. This weekend we had a family get together and went to a new one. It was quite an experience. It was also fish fry night and the fish left something to be desired. The Mexican was different too and the cheese sauce would have made good wallpaper paste. The salsa was so thin you could see through it. The poor waitress had quite a time of it as the cook lost one of the orders and one couple didn't get their meal and we were all ready to leave. Needless to say, we won't go back there and will go to our favorite place the next time we want good Mexican or American too.

Fish Fry Night

Well here it is Friday night and fish fry night and where are we? We are home of course. What a winter this is. We had a couple inches of snow again last night with freezing sleet coming down on top of it in the middle of the night. The snow plow guy had to come clean our drives again this morning. I had to shovel away from the door so we could get out. Then about the time we were thinking of going to the bigger city for fish fry, they threatened us with snow and blowing snow. Boy, it is going to be a long January!!!

Friday Night Fish Fry

Here it is Friday already. And at our house, it means the Friday night fish fry at the Knights of Columbus. Those people are all volunteers and they do a wonderful job of putting out a fantastic meal for just $7.50 a person. You just can't beat it. The menu includes pickled beets, tiny carrots, celery, potato chips, applesauce, coleslaw, beef and noodles, escalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes and brown gravy, green beans, hot baked beans, huge pans of every part of the chicken baked to perfection, falling off the bones, 3 kinds of fish, tartar sauce, buns, butter, salt and pepper, hot coffee, milk and water. Now if you are not hungry yet, once you get out of the car in the parking lot, you will encounter all the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. It is buffet style and all you can eat so you just can't beat it. Sometimes, the Girl Scouts are there with all kinds of marvelous pies, bars and cookies - that is, if you have some room left to eat them. I'll save some room anytime for a great piece of homemade pie.

Fish Fry

Went to the fish fry tonight. Our nephew rode along with us. We met his parents there. They were quite late and thought they weren't coming. But they showed up in time before all the chicken and fish were gone. Our nephew lives alone and he sure enjoyed a big meal. Got two huge plates full. The girls scouts were selling pie and we got a couple pieces of graham cracker crust pie. It was very good. We had a nice visit, then stopped by Wal-Mart and got gas for $3.499 - a good price. Filled it up. Also got the car washed today so it really looks nice. Supposed to rain though. That figures, doesn't it?

Arizona Relatives

We went to the fish fry tonight in another town and ran into some relatives. They had just arrived from Sun City, AZ in their motor home. They live in Arizona year round. We had a good visit with them and also a brother and sister-in-law at the local fish fry. You get plenty to eat for $7.50 and if you aren't full or satisfied when you leave there it is your fault. Saw some other friends there too. It is a good place to meet and greet old friends and enjoy some really good food.

Fish Fri Friday

We got out into the cold and went to the fish fry and had a good visit with relatives. Our niece is attending college now to be a doctor's assistant, kind of like an LPN. She goes 3 nights a week and her daughter watches the little one 2 nights and her brother watches him one night a week to help her out. She got a nice duplex and got a good raise at her job so things are going much better for her than they were. The fish fry isn't going to be going next week as the head people are going to Hawaii. Neat!!

Fish /Chicken Fry

We are off again tonight to the fish fry. They not only have great fish of several kinds but they also have great chicken and salads. We always eat too much but we have a good time visiting with relatives that are there to enjoy the food also. It is only $7 per person and it is all you can eat, so you can't beat that can you?

Friday Night Fish Fry

We always go to the fish fry on Friday nights, put on by the Knights of Columbus. It is a regular buffet and so much good food. They have potatoe chips, applesauce, cinnamon apple slices, celery sticks, little carrots, cole slaw, beef & noodles, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, hot pork and beans, green beans, chicken and 3 kinds of fish, rolls and butter and wash it down with water, milk or coffee. All you can eat and go back as often as you wish for $7 each. Can't beat that. Have to be careful and not overeat.

I am glad it is Friday. We got the nicest 3/4" of rain last night and my husband mowed the lawn yesterday so that was very good timing. We are going to the fish fry in Mason tonight and on the way we have to stop and pick up some clothes that I had altered. This lady is very good. She has been altering clothing for a cleaners, for a very long time and she is fast too. I took them to her last Friday and she called Wednesday and said they were ready. We'll go have a great meal with both fish and chicken tonight and no cooking at this house :0)

Friday Night Fish Fry

Got to the fish fry a little late, but Barb and Herman were still there along with Michelle and her little boy, and Sharon, Barb's friend. Barb is not doing her physical theraphy at home for her knee like she should and she isn't walking like they recommend. She has to go to physical theraphy twice a week for another month and is going back to work the 15th. Herman is going to have a bone density test and then to the arthritis doctor. Doctor wants to see what is going on with his spine. They found out that not only were 2 vertebrae in his neck cracked, but one is broken. The doctor said that isn't as bad as it is a soft bone. I didn't know we had any such thing as a soft bone. He plans to go back to work next week too.fish fry Barb is using a cane and think she will be for a long time. Her knee still isn't strong enough in the back but is bending the full degrees. Also, her stroke affected her eyes and she has to have a special lense for one and a new one for the other.
