Church Today

We had a great time in church today. First we had a good time of singing with the Praise and Worship team. They do a wonderful job with all kinds of instruments. Then we heard a good message. After that we had a fundraising lunch that was delicious. We have some very good cooks in our church. It seems that most church ladies really know how to cook. Most of them have families so they probably get plenty of experience :0)

Taco Tuesday

Tomorrow is Taco Tuesday with my brother.  We have had the worst weather the last two weeks and I haven't been able to get over there to go with him for lunch.  It looks like it is going to be the warmest day this week.  Should be in the 30's which is a regular heat wave compared to what it has been.  Watching the sun go down and the sky is really pretty.  Red sky at night, sailor's delight and it looks like it is going to be a good day.

Rice Soup

I made some Rice Soup this week. It is an easy soup with stew meat, broth, potatoes, carrots and rice. My old German mother-in-law made it all her life and it is one of my husband's favorite soups. It is great to have it in the refrigerator to pull out for a quick tasty lunch or supper too. My husband really loves soup. He could eat some with every meal. This one is especially fast to make and I can have it for lunch in no time at all. Sure saves me a lot of work on some lunches for a few days after I make a batch.

Company

We had company yesterday. Our son and his wife, my brother and his friend all came for lunch and then our son and wife spent the day visiting. We had sandwiches with all he extras to put on them and potato salad so it turned out real good. It was a perfect weather day. The snow missed us again but we had rain about 1:30 last night. We need a good Spring rain to clean up everything. Snow piles are mostly melted down to ice now and a lot of dirt has blown onto them over the winter.

Lunch

What's for lunch? Maybe a sandwich and chips and milk. Perhaps a hot dog and chips. Maybe a nice bowl of your favorite soup and sandwich? Is a Subway sandwich what you crave or a slice of pizza at the gas station? Hamburgers at Hardees is another option. Lunch gets to be so routine, you try to liven it up someway with extra pickle, lettuce maybe? We will see, as my husband is making it for me while I post.
