Christmas is Next Week

I am looking forward to Christmas at my daughter's.  I will get to see my latest new little great granddaughter for the first time.  There will be lots of little ones to open their gifts.  Also will be lots of good food and many treats.  Everyone does so much baking of fine cookies and candy this time of the year.  I hope the weather cooperated and is nice so everyone can travel here. It is so dark and gloomy today that I have a lamp on so I can see this keyboard.  There won't be any sunshine today :0(

Great Granddaughter

This is one of my little great granddaughters. She rode along with me and her grandparents to Colorado for her Uncle's wedding. We were blessed with a day in which we spent in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was just beautiful up there. Here you can see how little a 4 year old looks next to just one of the rocks up in the mountains. Although it was sunny, it was a little chilly but we all had a wonderful time.

Family Trip

Here I am with my little great granddaughter in the Rocky Mountains. We had such a nice trip out there and back. We went to my grandson's wedding. It was just beautiful up above Estes Park. I had not been to Colorado since I was 18 so it was a great trip for me to see the mountains again. We all had such a good time.

Learning to Spell

Children have so much more at their disposal to play with and learn at the same time. Here our little great granddaughter, who is three years old, is already learning to spell some words. She has spelled out MOM and DAD. I think by the time she starts school she will know a lot more than I did when I started school. Her Mom is a good teacher too.

Ava Marie is Here

We have been waiting a long time for little Ava Marie to come into the world. She arrived last night about 8:30 and made her parents very happy. This is their first child and girls are scarce in our family so that makes her all the more special. I came from a family that was all boys for generations except for one Aunt and then I came along and got the royal treatment, especially on birthdays and Christmas. That was pretty nice. Ava is our 10th great granddaughter that so that makes her special also.

Happy 3rd Birthday

Our little great granddaughter had a wonderful birthday. She is now 3 years old. It is so hard to believe they grow up so fast. She is having a great time here eating some of her birthday cake. Her Mom made the cutest cat birthday cake and cupcakes too. You can see she is having a great time here enjoying her cake.

Dental Visit

We were so proud of our little great granddaughter when she made her first trip to the dentist. She is not quite three years old and most children that age do not do well on their first trip to the dentist. Her Grammy works at the dentist where she went so she prepared her grandchild in advance of what would be going on during her dental visit. I am sure that really helped her not to be afraid and she sat very well to have her teeth cleaned and polished. I think she did better than many adults who are afraid to go to the dentist.

Spanish ABC's

Our little granddaughter has a book of Spanish ABC's. Her mom came into the room to find her singing her ABC's in Spanish. Her Mom didn't know that she knew them in Spanish. I think that is amazing since she isn't even 3 years old yet. Her Mom has also taught her to "sign" and her little brother too. That is really amazing to me.

Family

Here is a picture of our oldest great granddaughter. She is going into 6th grade. They sure grow up fast. She looks so much like her mother. I can also see her grandmother in some of her expressions. They live too far away from us and have moved even farther now. It would be nice if they could be closer so we could see them except on Facebook.

Future Cook

We have a future cook in the family. She loves to work in the kitchen, whether it is in her Mom's kitchen, her Grammy's kitchen, or her own little kitchen. If she is as good a cook as her Mom and Grammy, she will be a good one. She is all girl and loves girlish things. She has a lot of fun playing with her little brother too. They are such a delight.

Baking Cookies

It seems like yesterday that our grandchildren were playing in the little kitchen we had set up on the farm. And now, here is our little great grandaughter making cookies in her little kitchen at her Grammy's. Where does the time fly by? It is hard to believe she is on her way to being 3 years old already. Before we can blink she will be in school.

House Cleaning Time

It is nearly Spring and time to do the Spring house cleaning. Our little great granddaughter is going to help her Mom vaccum. I could use her help :0) at my house too. It is so much fun to watch them copy their parents. I am sure she has watched her Mom cleaning house and wants to help her too.

New Baby

Yeah! We have a new baby great grandaughter born last night. Her name is Kaelyn Sue and she weighed 7 pounds 9 1/2 ounces. Mother and daughter are doing fine. She is 20 1/2 inches long and has very dark hair like her daddy. Grandaughter was in labor 22 hours and they finally took the baby c-section. Good thing they did as the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck. We are anxious to see her and her folks.
