My Birthday
I had a great birthday. I started celebrating the day before by shopping for new New Balance shoes that I wear all the time. Then I went to Perkins and had my favorite blueberry pancakes with whipped cream. Then I did more shopping at the Fareway store on my way home. I picked up a few favorites I can't get at home. It was a beautiful sunny day and I had a wonderful time. Then on my Birthday, I went to the wedding of friends at our church and they had a beautiful wedding and a wonderful buffet. It was another gorgeous sunny day. On Sunday, I attended church and then took in the movie "Jersey Boys", however, I thought the language was awful. I celebrated with supper at the Pizza Ranch. They not only have great pizza but wonderful broasted chicken and potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy and a huge salad bar.

Birthday Special
It was my great grandson's 1st birthday and the theme was football. His Dad decorated a cake like a football field with green astroturf and all, made of frosting. On top was a chocolate football. I thought one of the neatest things was the fruit bowl. It was a small watermelon cut out like a football helmet. I've never seen anything like it and thought it was really neat and bet you will too when you look at this picture.

Another Birthday Party
Our little great grandson turned one year old. He had so much fun opening his presents. His Dad had a lot of fun keeping his older sister and brother from helping him too much :0). He really went at those presents, ripping off the paper. He did really well for one so young. He had a great time and lots of fun presents.

Holly's Birthday

Holly will be 12 on the 25th of this month. It seems like yesterday that we got her as a little puppy. She is different in that she has a white face instead of the black mask most Boston Terriers have. She also has one blue and one brown eye. She has been having some infection around her eyes and the Vet says a lot of dogs have allergies at this time of the year. She had it last year too. We have 2 pills to give her and some lotion to put around her eyes twice a day for a week and hopefully by next Wednesday it will be cleared up. It looks better already.

Walk in the Park
We went for a walk in a beautiful little park in a small town. We found it was full of mosquitoes so we quickly got out of there. We find as we age, we have to watch our step and since I have had knee surgery, it is helpful to have my husband hold my hand over the rough ground. It hadn't been mowed in some time either, making it worse, but it was a beautiful park. We went to a restaurant right across the street and had a great meal and celebrated my birthday. What fun!!!! Thanks kids!!!!

70th Birthday Open House
We went to an Open House yesterday. It was an invitation to help a lady in our church celebrate her 70th birthday. I felt it was a bit young for an Open House. It seems most people wait until they are 80. But then again, a lot of people don't reach 80. Therefore, maybe it is a good idea. We had lots of good food to eat and it was like a family reunion for her with many of her family coming and also friends she went to school with.

Happy Birthday
We went out with my good friend last week to celebrate her birthday. I got her one of those 1950 Betty Crocker cookbooks because she has a large family and they really have big get togethers and make lots of food. She will get a lot of use out of it. You ought to see mine. It looks like it has been through a war. Pages all torn, cocoa on the favorite chocolate cake and I can't find all the index pages anymore. I have it held together by a huge rubber band, but I wouldn't trade that cookbook for all the new ones in the world. My grandmother gave me the cookbook when we got married and it got a workout the first week. I made my first pie and pie crust from that book because it had pictures showing you just how to roll it out and everything.
